Random Facts

I love the "Random Fact" game. It is a great way to get to know someone. I have been playing it a lot lately with my close friends so I thought I would put some up on here. :)

  1. I am an only child.
  2. I am adopted.
  3. I played the alto saxophone from 6th grade until 9th grade. I dropped out because of some family situations.
  4. My "dream" car is a Honda Element. Blue & Black. What can I say, I'm realistic.
  5. I have never been to the ocean, but I want to so bad.
  6. I have a small obsession with cleaning out my ears because my dad said something to be about my ears being dirty when I was younger.
  7. I have a storage unit I have rented for over 2 1/2 years. Most of which is stuff I haven't seen in that long.
  8. I have a hard time sitting still during movies.
  9. My favorite color is blue.
  10. I love a great Japanese Steak House.
  11. My parents bowled a lot growing up and were on 1-2 leagues a week. So I grew up around bowling and still love it.
  12. I was prom princess my junior year of high school.
  13. My favorite Disney movie when I was younger was The Little Mermaid.
  14. My beverages of choice are sweet tea, dr pepper or chocolate milk (although I'm trying to cut back on them and drink more water).
  15. I rode the NYC subway around 11pm by myself with no working cell phone to meet up with another friend to listen to music. (one of my bravest moments)
  16. When I was younger, I wanted to be a school teacher.
  17. I would rather be cold than hot.
  18. I have 2 piercing in each ear and my nose pierced.
  19. I am horrible at spelling and sounding out words because I memorized most words as a kid.
  20. I am allergic to cats. After being around them for a bit, I can't breathe and my eyes turn red and swell.

  22. I have had a rough draft of both a dream house and a bed and breakfast I want to own someday drawn up since I was in middle school. Thanks to pinterest, I just keep adding things to it.
  23. I have never been on a date.
  24. My first plane ride was in 2005. I flew from Bentonville, AR to Newark, NJ by myself to hang out with a friend for a week before we flew to Atlanta for Converge Atlanta.

  26. I want to travel.
  27. My love languages are: 1) acts of service, 2) quality time, 3) physical touch 4) words of affirmation, 5) gifts.
  28. The most random job I have ever had was working at the hospital as a 'sitter.' I did just that. I 'babysat' patients because of mental or health issues.
  29. I owed a 2001 chevy caviler. I bought it almost new and paid for it all on my own. I had to get rid of it last April, but I had a love/hate relationship with that car.
  30. If I am trying to sleep, I like for there to be a fan going (for air movement and noise) and it to be a little cold so I can use a thick blanket.

That's it for now. I may post later as I think of them.

Thanks for reading.

The Happiest 5K on the Planet

This past Saturday, April 6th, I had the opportunity to be apart of "The Happiest 5K on the Planet."

Not going to lie, when I heard the tag line, I was skeptical. However, after being apart, there is a reason it has the name it does.

The Color Run was one of the best and most fun 5K races I have done. The Cup sponsored four of us from work to run the race in our cup shirts. So we got to wear those shirts instead of the Color Run shirts.

The run had about 10,000 participants in it. Here is the view from to roof top of the parking garage next to the starting line. (photo credit: Kate Reed)

My confidence level always amazes me. Even though I don't have as much as some, on certain days, I do. I still can't believe I wore what I wore on Saturday. But I wanted to go outside my box. I wanted to force myself not to care. I wanted to have fun. And that started with wearing the most ridiculous and most colorful things I could find. And I did. I struggled all day with how I looked but not because the clothing. The clothing I wasn't even concerned with.

Who wants to run the next one with me??
